Just back from Killarney and a very successful Expo at the IPPN (national school principals) conference. Because of the way it was organised, Thursday was pretty quiet and a lot of us exhibitors were pretty unhappy. But day two was structured better and we had a very busy day indeed. It should hopefully result in our Francisees getting to see lots of principals and booking lots of shows in the coming weeks.
I can’t put Killarney behind me without mentioning the porridge at the International hotel. It is utterly delicious. As a rule, nothing good for you tastes this good, so I suspect there were added ingredients but I don’t want to know. I urge you - scratch the visit to the Taj Mahal off your list of 100 things to do before you die and replace it with a trip to the International for the porridge. It’ll be quicker, cheaper, more satisfying and you won’t get your shoes stolen.

The Toothbrushes are packed and puppet elder Dr. Moody is psyched for the trip. The last time he was in Killarney he was an extra in The Quiet Man. Apparently he remained friends with John Wayne for many years afterwards, although he never saw eye to eye with Maureen and often referes to her as ‘that woman’.
With around a 1000 principals knocking about, we better be on our best behaviour!!
Mike.

For no reason, other than to spread a little good news on the business front, we are happy to say that we have never been busier with our party and educational shows. Obviously the new year will be difficult for everyone, with most commentators predicting lenghtening dole queues, but the indications are that people will continue to spend a reasonable amount on quality party entertainment. Schools too, will continue to use professional outside help, allbeit on limited resources, to help them deliver the SPHE curriculum and other tricky topics. Our challenge is to make our offering to them very useful and very relevant. We are hoping that teachers will provide us with a lot of useful feedback, opinion and guidance on this blog.
