New Pre-School Product Trial

One of the bright ideas to come out of our conference was the concept of putting together a puppet workshop for creches’, montessoris’ etc. The basic concept is that we get up to 20 kids involved, give them all a puppet to use and involve them in creating a story using the puppets. No stage involved, just the sound system with sound effects and music.

Booky Wooky our very own talking book!

Booky Wooky our very own talking book!

Our Reading show - written to encourage kids to rediscover and read storybooks - went down a storm in libraries all over the country during world book week earlier this month.

If you run a library or are simply looking to promote literacy amongst kids, give us a call. I think you’ll find that our reading show - “The town with no stories” - is the perfect way to get kids reading.

Principals and Porridge

January 31st, 2009 by Mike

Just back from Killarney and a very successful Expo at the IPPN (national school principals) conference.  Because of the way it was organised, Thursday was pretty quiet and a lot of us exhibitors were pretty unhappy. But day two was structured better and we had a very busy day indeed.  It should hopefully result in our Francisees getting to see lots of principals and booking lots of shows in the coming weeks.

I can’t put Killarney behind me without mentioning the porridge at the International hotel. It is utterly delicious. As a rule, nothing good for you tastes this good, so I suspect there were added ingredients but I don’t want to know. I urge you - scratch the visit to the Taj Mahal off your list of 100 things to do before you die and replace it with a trip to the International for the porridge.  It’ll be quicker, cheaper, more satisfying and you won’t get your shoes stolen.

Principals conference in Killarney -Thu/Fri

January 28th, 2009 by Mike

The Toothbrushes are packed and puppet elder Dr. Moody is psyched for the trip. The last time he was in Killarney he was an extra in The Quiet Man. Apparently he remained friends with John Wayne for many years afterwards, although he never saw eye to eye with Maureen and often referes to her as ‘that woman’.

With around a 1000 principals knocking about, we better be on our best behaviour!!

Busy year already!

January 16th, 2009 by Mike

First post of 2009 - not a great start to my blogging career! Things seem to have carried on where they left off in 08 - i.e. BUSY!  I thought bookings might ease off a bit at the start of the year but happily no - the phone is hopping and I can see us comfortably pushing through the 2000 shows barrier this year.

We’re also preparing for the Irish Primary Principals Network (IPPN) expo in Killarney at the end of the month where we will be showcasing our Educational Shows.

Reading - let’s give it a huge push

December 2nd, 2008 by admin

With all the competition for childrens spare time the poor old book needs a hand. We have a lovely show aimed at getting the kids interested in reading but what else can we do at school or at home to get them to put the XBox down and pick up Treasure Island?

Promoting healthy eating habits for the future - tips

We have a lovely show on this subject - you can see the details on the main site - but we’d love to create a really big back end to this with a repository of your common sense ideas, tips and recipies. Go on - let fly!

Does your school have bullying issues?

December 2nd, 2008 by admin

I’m interested in kicking off a discussion on the finer points - if I can use that expression - of bullying today.  Our existing show on the topic adequately covers the middle ground but in the margins we understand that bullying via text, IM, social network sites like Bebo and prank calling are becoming an increasing problem.  How prevalent is this?
